Protecting personal digital information is essential in order to maximize personal safety in using social media network. Children need to be taught to protect their identity, this is not common knowledge and often not something a child would think about. Discussions around disclosing personal information to ‘cyber friends’ and faceless people on the internet need to take place regularly with your pupils as well as opening unknown emails and webpages. During lessons reinforce to your students the importance of protecting their passwords, login details and logging off of computers.
